The HIGHCOM CTAC carrier is a top-tier plate carrier engineered for professionals who demand premium protection, durability, and comfort in one streamlined system. Built with the coverage you need from rugged 1000D CORDURA nylon with a spacer mesh interior, it delivers long lasting performance while staying breathable during extended wear. Top-loading front and rear 10x12 plate pockets give you a secure, compatible fit with your rifle plates, while mesh-lined, foam-padded adjustable shoulder straps help manage weight and reduce fatigue.
Designed as a true tactical load-bearing platform, the CTAC features front and rear MOLLE/PALS webbing, a Velcro-adjustable cummerbund with MOLLE that can accept soft armor inserts, and sewn-on mic tabs for patrol or duty use. The included 5 by 8 trauma pocket (trauma insert sold separately) adds another layer of protection, and the reinforced drag handle provides a reliable extraction point when it matters most. DWR treatment adds water resistance, keeping your gear and armor more protected from the elements.
Where the CTAC really stands apart: its ability to integrate IIIA soft armor both behind the vest and through optional add-on coverage. It is compatible with all Trooper soft armor panels, allowing you to add concealable IIIA protection under the carrier while also upgrading with Protector attachments such as neck or collar, yoke, groin, deltoids, and lower abdomen panels. This creates a scalable armor system so users can tailor protection to patrol duty, high threat entries, or active shooter response.
For departments and teams, the CTAC offers flexible identification and configuration options. Users can add optional Velcro name tags, badge grommet holes, and a 4-inch elastic side strap if they prefer to remove the cummerbund. An optional cummerbund quick release system and custom sizing help ensure a secure, personalized fit across different body types. At only about 2.53 pounds, the CTAC delivers a high strength, feature rich platform without unnecessary bulk, backed by a two year warranty on exterior cover material and workmanship.
