- On the plate bags, there was a 1" lip around the edge, and some users complained it would jab them in the throat when they sat down. This lip was there for the manufacturing process, so removing it presented some challenges, but it's gone now!
- We removed the shoulder buckles because they created some difficulty when shouldering rifles, and it was a weak spot in the design. It was our most-warrantied issue. We are experimenting with some different buckles and might bring them back in the future, but for now, only the cummerbunds are quick-release.
- The shoulder pads feature Velcro loops for hydration and comms wires rather than the elastic shotgun shell webbing on the top.
- The side walls and size have been slightly adjusted on magazine pouches to make getting mags in and out easier. AK mags fit better now, too!
- Cummerbunds and the included pouches feature the biggest design changes. Firstly, one of the biggest issues with the YK-1 was the side plate pouch. It could not be adjusted, and using the internal mag pouches that far back was difficult for many users. So we added separate pouches for side plates and cummerbund magazines. We also added MOLLE to the interior of the cummerbunds so you can utilize both the inside and outside to bring plates and mags closer to your body.
-The MOLLE side plate pouches fit both 6"x6" and 6"x8" side plates, but if you don't run side plates, you can use them as general-purpose pouches. They also fit four 5.56 rifle mags in each one, so you could carry an additional 8 rifle magazines for a total of 15 on the carrier.
-We added elastic to the rear of the cummerbunds to squeeze the plates to your chest and back while aiding in breathability.
- The drag handle is bar-tacked and sewn down the rear plate bag for reinforced capabilities.
